ORIGIN
CLOAC was founded in 1997 by Lee Cumbie, a practicing NC lawyer, who realized that, although many law firms talked about the potential of technology, only a very few were actually reaping the available benefits. While in
law school, he recognized the legal profession's need for honest, accurate advice on purchasing hardware and software, implementing new technologies, and quality training, and set out to learn about these areas from those
who knew it best.
Under the tutelage of nationally renowned legal computing expert Professor Richard T. Rodgers, Lee learned all he could about every aspect of law office automation and management. In recognition of this acquired expertise
he was chosen to be the Adjunct Professor for the Campbell University School of Law course in law office technology. Currently, Lee also instructs fellow lawyers in various aspects of legal technology at CLE programs
across North Carolina. CLOAC is one of the official consultants for the North Carolina Bar Foundation's Technology Assistance Program (TAP). CLOAC is also certified in virtually all major legal software programs.
